ACT Announces Selection of Interim Executive Director

Toronto – The ACT Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of John Maxwell as Interim Executive Director effective November 1, 2013.
John has been a leader in the HIV/AIDS movement for over 20 years and has extensive experience in the area of HIV prevention and sexual health promotion. He has been an active participant in many community-based research projects and is a member of numerous local, provincial, national and international HIV/AIDS working groups.
As ACT’s Director of Programs and Services, John has provided oversight to the agency’s community health programs and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and worked extremely close with previous Executive Director, Hazelle Palmer, to implement and track the progress on ACT’s 2010-2015 Strategic Plan, Resilience.
John will hold the role of Interim Executive Director until it is filled permanently. The ACT Board of Directors will be launching a search for a permanent Executive Director in the coming weeks.
